In an interview with Page Six, I'm not into the celebrity thing . . . like we used to. That's boring'. Marc Jacobs has revealed that there will be no star studded front row at his catwalk show this week. Marc Jacobs has been reducing the number of celebrity guests at his shows over the past few seasons. Last year Lady Gaga, who was invited because she was performing at the after-party, famously missed his show altogether because she arrived late. There were no air-kisses between the celebrities and designers backstage. The only star who did appear at Jacob's show back in September was Madonna. Jacobs says, 'She came backstage, and I was like, 'What do you do with her now?' Because it's not like she was invited.'

While they will be missed, I think it would be nice for people to focus on the clothes again rather then who is sitting in the front row. I mean I can see how having a celebrities at your show could work as a double edge sword. As an up and coming designer, having a celebrity would definately bring attention to you line. Some as well-established as Marc Jacobs, may get plenty of press but they could also take focus off their clothing.
