I am loving the Spring Couture line for Valentino! Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli worked up for their third Valentino couture show It got some mix reviews but I am totally loving their use of color, and their use of drapery with a geometric twist. It's as if the look has brought 80's New Wave into 2010. I guess one could say that this trend has been going on for a while. Style.com thought that this collection's drew from too many inspirations in order to try to separate themselves from past Valentino collection, citing Rodarte for a Fantasy Tribal feel, and Avatar as the inspiration for the make up. I would say that from an younger perspective, these looks are totally vibing with the with the curent music scene out of Brooklyn. Its like Santogold, MIA, MGMT and Ziggy Stardust decide to have a sleepover and trade styling tips with the designers. ( Thats how I feel)
