Fashion week 2

Fashion week is approaching us. What does that mean? It means beautiful clothes, wonderful parties, celebrities, and most important a showcasing of American Talent. Although Paris is know for being the mecca of European fashion and haute couture, It is places like London and New York that embraces its young designers. ( I am talking bout western fashion) In New York, there is no shortage of ambitious young designers trying to become the next Donna Karen.Although our year has just started, January and February are the months that show buyers, writes, and the media what is in store for the end of the year. In the coming weeks many growing and many already established, will do head to head full to set the trends of fall 2010.

With all they excitement, it is no wonder that thousands upon thousands flood the streets leading to Bryant park on this occasion.Unfortunately many get scammed into believing that they can by their way into a show. This results many people being scammed into buying tickets for thousands of dollars to see a show. I remember reading an article about a woman that had spent 5000 dollars so that her daughter could see several of the shows. It wasn't until they had gotten there that learned what had been done. Many of these people weer turned away. For the lucky some, they were permitted in out of pure pity.

You can not buy "TICKETS". There are no tickets that are sold to any fashion show. These tickets are actually "invitations." These invitations are sent out to people that can create interest for the the line. The number of invitations that are sent out normally consed with the number of chairs and standing room the tent can accommodate. (Fashion week is now in side one of the venues . Forgot which at the moment) You can say they are not shows (like concerts). They are marketing presentations. These shows are for Buyers, Publications, and so on. Some celebrities are invited to create interest and bring in more press. You best bet of catching a glimpse of fashion week was standing out side the tents with the paparazzi when fashion week was at the tents. I am not sure how things are going to work out in the new venue. I hoping that this season will be just as amazing as the experience of Bryant park!
